Making Ice Cream
Making ice cream at home is easier than you think. It not only produces delicious desserts and is much healthier but it will make you very popular with your family and friends! Almost everyone (including our dog!) likes ice cream.

Shop bought manufactured ice cream typically contains preservatives, additives, gelling agents, trans fat, colourings and other potentially unhealthy substances and by making ice cream at home you can avoid all of those as well as choosing your own favourite flavours and experimenting with new ones.
Perhaps you can create a flavour that no-one has even heard of or tasted yet and if you are stuck for ideas there plenty of ice cream maker recipes to be found online.
With an ice cream maker the basic instructions are easy to follow and it is usually just a case of adding fruits (or vegetables!) sugar, honey or other sweetners, corn starch, cream and milk and natural flavourings.
Wooden Ice Cream Maker
Depending on the machine it takes around 25 minutes for the ice cream to reach the right consistency if the bowl has been pre-frozen. Either eat it right then or put it in the freezer.
Both electric powered models and hand crank ice cream makers are available and oddly enough they both take around the same amount of time to produce first class ice cream, it is just that the amount of effort involved obviously varies.
