Every cook dreams of having a kitchen like those you see on TV complete with a pot rack full of gleaming utensils cooking of all types and sizes. Daydreaming While this is probably not entirely realistic, it is possible to have a well-stocked kitchen that meets all your needs to cook. Before rushing out to buy a set of pots and pans, get a working knowledge of what types of cookware are best suited to your needs. Use this list hand to see what your kitchen is missing.
Pans: A pan is just a little expensive, long-handled bread is often called a pan, pans usually come in four sizes, extra large (12 inches), large (10 inches), medium (8 inches) and small (6 inches). Cookbooks often refer to pans certain size, so it is important to know the extent of each. Occasionally you have a recipe that requires you to put a pan in the oven, so it is important to buy pans with handles that can withstand the heat of cooking. Pots, pans come in three sizes (1 – 2 – and three quarters) and is a good idea to have a few in each style for heating soups and sauces decisions. Pans have long handles and tight fitting lids.
Dutch oven or boiler: A boiler is a pot or large pot of thick paper with a tight lid. Unlike a pan, these pots do not have a long handle but have two handles set along the edge on opposite sides. Dutch ovens are perfect for soups, stews, meat and stew. Kettles are good when has a large casserole or a pot of soup to make or if you enjoy home canning.
Steam vegetables: A vegetable steamer is a perforated basket containing food in boiling water in a pot for steaming instead of boiling. Folding units are available as solid or baskets.

Grill pans: A grill pan is a special pan that has deep forests which can drain the fat from food. The grooves also add lines to the elements to cook, which makes them look like that have been burned in the barbecue grill. A grill pan also comes in a borderless flat skillet.
Woks: A wok is a pan with deep sides, slope helps keep the food pieces in the pan when frying. They are available with flat or rounded bottoms, and sometimes come in electric versions.
