Walnut oil is produced mainly in the Perigord and Burgundy regions of France. It is also produced in Australia, New Zealand and California, USA. unrefined nut oil is made from the nuts are dried and pressed cold. Good quality walnut oil is light amber with a rich nutty flavor.

Once opened, its shelf life is six to twelve months and should be kept in a dark cool place or refrigerated to prevent from becoming rancid.
