Who created the paper shredder in the first place? Calls to the Area Office
Documents have been shredded in the United States for decades. From The Egyptians created papyrus in 4000 BC, there was a need to destroy documents. When a mistake was made or information needed to be destroyed, the papyrus could easily be broken or burnt. Things have changed a lot since then.
The first mechanical shredder was created in 1935 in Germany. Adolf Ehinger used standard kitchen tools to create a device that would make the paper unreadable. His inspiration for the creation of a paper shredder to help rid anti-Nazi material. After being confronted by Nazi soldiers on the literature in your trash, decided he had to find a better way to destroy it.
Adolfo biggest inspiration for shredder was a hand-crank pasta maker. Using the same concept, created a mechanical device that sat on a wooden frame. He later meets with an electric motor. People thought his team did not make sense. During the 1940's began selling his invention to several entities government and embassies.
Because the Cold War, the invention of Adolfo became more popular. In 1959 he created the first shredder cross cut paper. Cross cut shredders cut paper in multiple directions, making it even more difficult to decipher the shredded material. Strip cut shredders, which often create the ΒΌ-inch strips of paper are not as safe. During that time, shredders were typically used by the government.
Crushers have played an important role in the story, which is associated with the coverup. The Nixon's reelection committee used a crusher Fellowes role during Watergate. Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North used an Intimus 007-S shredder to shred documents during the Iran-Contra.
