Nonstick Cookware Brand
Scratches on my nonstick pans?
My brother said that nonstick pans are dangerous only when they have scratches on them, So the release of the chemical to cause cancer. Some truth in this? As for my cookware, I have to replace all items. Most of them were my mothers. I've bought two 10 "(A Regal brand, and Wearever), and 8." I forgot what brand. I just want to be on the side sure!
Actually Teflon (the brand of PTFE) coating is highly toxic. The research described was actually cancer compared to PTFE has been brought to very high heat (when left blank in a hot burner or in a grill). You should not ever cook in a situation in Teflon lined immediately thrown away. Even small amounts of Teflon is carcinogenic. If you must use non-stick cookware (well-seasoned cast iron is cheaper and free almost as good and traditional non-coated pans are superior to most other tasks), use only nylon utensils or silicone rubber in it. Very high quality nonstick pans (such as clothes made by all) are built to withstand some use of metal, mainly bat, but never, never use of Teflon lined. Throw away.
