Homemade ice cream in a bag does not freeze?
This afternoon, I found some recipes for homemade ice cream as I had a machine ice cream makers I've used the bag method. Also I had no lock bags, so use small bags. Actually I used a container small plastic at first, but then it didn't work so I changed to another plastic bag. I put 1 / 2 cup whole milk, a tablespoon of condensed milk 1 / 4 cup sugar, a little vanilla. then put it as enough ice to cover the bottom of the bag twice and put a little salt, but I started as throwing the bag around but not yet as ice cream after a half hour? Is this because it was too little ice, or maybe I have not shake enough? thanks. the still not ice-covered plastic bag around, only about 1 / 4 of it.
what type of salt used? regular table salt can not cut, as is the process of ice melting faster than making the super-cold temperature to freeze the ice cream. I made ice cream in a bag this summer with my daughter and was used Morton salt ice cream … that is very, very thick. We had bag gloves got so cold.
