Red Dwarf

The second physical model built for Red Dwarf Series V and destroyed by the pyrotechnic Demons and angels episode. [Citation needed]

The CGI used for the Red Dwarf remastered versions of the Series III and (with a representation of higher quality) for Series VIII. Nicknamed "The Pen" by fans because of its length. [Citation needed]

The Red Dwarf CGI used for the return to Earth miniseries, essentially a shortened version of "pencil" version, with similar proportions to the original series of models 1-5.

The eponymous spaceship Red Dwarf is a huge mining vessel owned by the Jupiter Mining Corporation and the command of Captain Frank Hollister. It is 6 miles (10 kilometers) long, 5 miles (8 km) tall, and 4 miles (6 km) wide. The irregular shape and pale red color of the ship the ship has been described as a "red giant trash can ". All systems are controlled by Red Dwarf's computer Holly.

A small asteroid is embedded in red-bellied dwarf. After reconstruction Red Dwarf in Series VIII, had two asteroids.

So far it has been a journey of approximately 3,000,000 years, and a few centuries in the top of this. The ship has enough food and drink to last 30,000 years, but have run out of Shake n Vac, and only one After Eight mint left.

The "Scoop" in front of the ship absorbs hydrogen from the currents in the space and converted into fuel. Red Dwarf has a large complement of shuttles, including Starbugs and dwarves Blue. Other transport rate is only mentioned in the novels, but never seen or heard in the television series white giant. Red Dwarf is powered by a ramjet Bussard and can theoretically go on forever.

It is mentioned briefly in the first episode, The End, Red Dwarf has botanical gardens, where a third of the technical class coach Dave Lister and Arnold Rimmer second class are sent to repair a "faulty circuit pourous" there.

The size of the crew said several times in the Series I to be 169, but the number grew over time: in the episode IV of Justice said they have been 1169 (although this was reversed Lister retcon implicitly give the number of crew, 000,169 in The Inquisitor) (This figure was the number of people killed in the blast, and could be explained by having 169 members and 1000 civilian crew on board, it would be plausible as we know there are many hotels and civilian areas, due to the episode "Stasis Leak") and in the books of the figure is given as 11,169. In the program, however, these continuity errors are more or less ignored. There an additional 400 people in a prison in the secret classified Piso 13.

Red Dwarf was the main stage during the first five series of the program, but apparently was lost for 200 years before Psirens Six series. It was later discovered that a group of criminals who were the nanobots Kryten mechanoid system Auto Repair Red Dwarf dismantled and created their own version of the nano ship. The crew of the nano-field version of the ship Starbug 1 and finally convinced nanobots to rebuild the ship.

Unbeknownst to the crew Holly creates a new set of nanobots to resurrect the dead crew as well, causing some confusion among the people before the death reconstructed Red Dwarf. The ship was reconstructed based on original specifications before Mining Corporation Jupiter made cuts, which means it was even bigger than the Red Dwarf of the first five series, with a quark-level matter / anti-matter generator and a bar Karaoke (this was at least partly intended as a justification for new sets and a new CGI model of the exterior of the ship).

The final destination of the ship known as the cliffhanger end of the last series was never resolved (see episode …). Good We are witnessing the ship is moving towards destruction, this time by a microbe corrosive eating on the boat. Frank Hollister and the flight crew escape Starbugs fleet and dwarf blue. The last time I see Lister, the Cat, Kryten Kochanski and escape through a portal to a mirror universe, and Arnold Rimmer accidentally left alone on a breakup Red Dwarf.

In Red Dwarf: Back to Earth, the spacecraft is not However, fully functional, again, in a small CGI approaching vessel the size of the original series version 1.5. Exactly how the characters turned and how the ship was saved from destruction, is not explained.

notable areas of the ship on the previous series include:

Rimmer and Lister original Bedrooms The main value of the first two series. A gray room with bunk beds built into the wall, a table, two wardrobes, a sink with a mirror that also acts as a computer screen and voice activated toilet. It made an appearance in the first episode of Series VIII. This room is for use as a background for Red Dwarf: Bodysnatcher Collection DVD cover.

Rimmer and Lister bedroom second in the series III, moved to a room on the block officer used substantially larger, with a cream color scheme and showers as well as classroom versions of most of the devices of their original neighborhoods. This room was used as background Red Dwarf Series IV cover DVD.

The bedroom as seen in "Back to Earth

Rimmer and Lister third bedroom in the 2009 special "Back to Earth the crew once again moved to a new area to sleep. This new room is white and has a console in the center of the room reminisent is the TARDIS console seen in Doctor Who. This room also features a large window that occupies an entire wall.

147 level seems to have been the nerve center the vessel. Central Unit contained rooms, the control center of the vessel, where Kristine Kochanski used to work as well as the other officers rank. Central Drive The room also contains the Navicomp, navigation equipment of the ship, and several computer monitors that Holly used to project their image and communicate with the crew. The office of Captain Frank Hollister was also on the floor 147, near the Central Hall Drive. The stand of stasis in which Dave Lister was frozen in suspended animation for three million years ago was also on the level 147.

Level 592 contains the set of projection of the hologram. In Thanks for the memories Rimmer Lister here will give six months' worth of memories. In the episode Queeg a meteor hits the ship in the 592 level, damage to the whole hologram that results in behavior Rimmer erratic until the damage is corrected by Lister.

The Hall of Science This became the main area of the crew to conduct business techniques such as the exchange of the mind and consultation with Holly, the ship's computer, the series III. Apparently, the ship could sail from the Board of Science and the hall of the unit.

The cargo hold area of the ship where the fleets of Starbugs Dwarfs and blue were stored and where these ships launched and landed.

White Corridor 159 The initial site of the accident that killed the crew. Lister is where the episode breaks down trust and paranoia. Another visible during stasis booth this scene at the 159 level.

The Cocktail Bar Copacabana where Lister and his friends drinking Petersen, Selby Chen and often gathered to drink. Seen in several episodes of Series I.

Bar A wine bar in G Parrot cover apparently unique name for a "Casablanca" gag. ("We'll always have the Parrot. ") This area has seen in the story of Camille.

The tank of a prison cell two to one hundred the top secret thirteenth floor of Red Dwarf, which was held in custody 400 criminals on their way to a penal colony in Adelphi 12. However, when the nanobots reconstructed Red Dwarf (the beginning of Series VIII), they do JMC original plans, also the reconstruction of the tank in the process and the resurrection of prisoners at the jail, too. The tank is the main stage Series VIII, in the regular cast are imprisoned there. The tank was used as background for the coverage of the Red Dwarf DVD Series VIII.

Dwarf Blue

Dwarf blue, original version, described as "like a bread van" by Ed Bye in the film Re-Dwarf

Blue Dwarf is a type of transport has Red Dwarf. His body resembles that of a Chinook helicopter, but also has characteristics of a truck or a tank (because it has caterpillar tracks and a sticker that says "my other spacecraft is a red dwarf), and its cabin can hold up to four people. Blue Dwarf shuttle was used for Series II. In the series III, and the introduction of Kryten as the main character, a larger ferry was needed and Blue Dwarf is lost in the end, only two episodes of the series III and do not appear in all back to the Series VIII.

The new blueprint Midget, as seen in Red Dwarf Remastered, arms and legs replacement their tracks. As with the new model CG Red Dwarf, this was also used for the Series VIII, which had a higher rendering quality.

For Remastered Red Dwarf, Dwarf Blue was completely redesigned to resemble a bubble car with outriggers used for takeoff and walking (to replace the tracks).

The new design was also used for Blue Midget comeback in Series VIII, when the boat won its third cabin, substantially larger cabin more like Starbug Series VIII, the redesign is attributed to the nanobots and rebuild Red Dwarf and Blue Dwarf.

Blue Dwarf was used as background for the Red Dwarf Series II DVD cover.

Novels

Dwarf Blue also appears in the novels of the first two Red Dwarf. In the second novel, after a polymorph finds its way aboard the shuttle, the craft begins to self-destruction at the insistence of Lister.

Starbug

Jupiter Mining Corporation Starbug transport vehicles (full name Starbug I) is a relatively small ship, green. Has three bulbous sections, the cabin pilot facilities and motor midsection, similar to an error from the outside. Blue Dwarf Starbug replaced as the primary crew of the shuttle in Series III and became the main vehicle of the series along the series VI and VII.

The original Red Dwarf came equipped with at least four ships Starbug as Starbugs are left to "back" and "Terrorform" as a result of accidents by Rimmer and Kryten, Lister and Cat with recovery of the two in another Starbug both times, and "Bodyswap" after Rimmer (using the body of Lister) is blocked and recovered by others in the Blue Dwarf. Red Dwarf reconstruction Series VIII of the "Back in the Red" episode contained an entire fleet of Starbugs Dwarfs and blue, but the reconstructed Red Dwarf nanobots their original design specifications.

Series VI holds a total of two centuries after the last episodes of the series V. The internal arrangement differs from Starbug ship appearances in previous episodes. The new design appeared four main areas: the cockpit in the front, central and kitchen on the deck of the center section lower the observation room (which doubled in the quarter and medibay) in the middle deck upper section, and the engine room, which was more than three covers section rear. In addition, Starbug was finally armed with laser cannons in the episode "Gunmen of the Apocalypse" by criminals seeking simulators a challenge.

Throughout the Series VI and VII, Starbug is seen regularly travel through different planetary systems and through very different regions the interstellar medium in short periods of time. Therefore, it stands to reason that Starbug is capable of interstellar travel. [Citation needed].

The new design CG Starbug, as presented in Series VII. Note the cabin window smaller and the back legs at right angles.

For Series VII, Starbug was redesigned again, partly rendered in CGI, and all were substantially higher (Series VII Starbug appeared to be similar to the TARDIS in Doctor Who, which is more larger inside than outside). The complex explanation this time for the redesign is due to a time paradox caused by the battle with her future self in the series finale before (see episodes of "Out of Time" and "Tikka to Ride"). Kryten explains that "the dimensions anomalies" caused by this paradox time has extended the engineering section, the cargo section and duct maintenance in more than 212%. Apparently, parts of the future version Starbug updated the timeline is cleared also came to coexist with the present Starbug.

The new model had a cabin window smaller (Resulting from the rest of the ship is larger) and legs back again at right angles, and its largest size allowed for many additional rooms, including separate neighborhoods, medibay and re-designed set of artificial reality. This version of Starbug finally be destroyed when the ship crashed and exploded in the newly Red Dwarf rebuilt at the beginning of Series VIII.

Starbug is shown to have an internal cloaking device installed 'backwards' episode Series III, but since this feature has been rarely seen on the show do not know if it is a standard feature of the vessel or as a modification.

Starbug was used as the basis for the Red Dwarf Series III DVD cover.

Novels

In the novels of Red Dwarf, Starbug also star in a world of ice: a rogue planet, after being captured in orbit around a star and have their ice melted, turns out to be the Earth itself, which was ripped from its orbit after being officially named as "garbage of the world" and became the landfill solar system. After thawing the ice, Starbug is almost destroyed by acid rain very concentrated. However, Starbug is back and functional, in the following novels (again, possibly a second ship Starbug).

Carbug

Carbug on the set of Coronation Street, as presented in "Back to Earth

Carbug featured in Red Dwarf: Back to Earth. Designed by Mark Harris, Smart Fortwo is a measure that is covered in green vinyl in the same green as the original Starbug, but has also added several other and wings to make it look like the insect. Chris Barrie (doing its best impersonation Jeremy Clarkson) made a parody of Top Gear style feature on Carbug to the official website of Dave. In the episode, Dwarfers are in a hallucination caused by a squid despair. In this delusional state, borrow Carbug to swallow a theater accessories manufacturer, to locate her after discovering operator found in characters who have somehow escaped a television show called Red Dwarf. It was developed by the president of Red Dwarf fan club and robbed by Swallow at the end of the IX series.

Notes

Starbug introduction was prompted by the introduction of Kryten as the main character, which requires a new, larger transportation to keep the crew. The original concept was named White Dwarf Starbug and was going to be white. With the second episode and Starbug crashing into a snow-covered planet design team decided a green recolour the ship to increase the contrast and changed the name green dwarf, before realizing its similarity with an error and change the name again as Starbug. However, has a script error saying Lister: "What I can pilot more white dwarf?" Blue Dwarf misnaming although the reference that has left some fans scratching their heads. A ship called White Dwarf finally appear on the screen in Series VII, in a flashback to pre Kochanski alternate universe of accidents. As the crew uniforms alternate blue instead of beige, however, this is probably a difference in your world though different, the unidentified ship, the target appears as primary transport Canary Island Series VIII.

The Red Dwarf Companion includes a sketch of a shuttle unused design that is described as the design for the white dwarfs. This also has a Starbug design principles of a "green Midget."

In the audio commentary from series IV DVD, Chris Barrie conjectured Starbug spherical building that was the reason for its durability.

White dwarfs

White Dwarf Red Dwarf is about, as seen in "Ouroboros."

White dwarf would be the second type of transport held on board the Red Dwarf, dwarf blue plus – the introduction of character necessary to introduce Kryten of a larger transportation. White Dwarf spent at least a new design in the concept phase, which changed the form of three spheres, as the segments of an error. Your name was later changed to green and later Dwarf Starbug yet.

In the seventh episode of "Ouroboros", a vessel called White Dwarfs, finally appeared, albeit briefly, and only from the stern. Is close to Red Dwarf in a flashback, and seems to be a passenger transport vehicle and personnel, since it offers Dave Lister Red Dwarf back to your shore leave in Mimas before the accident that claimed the crew of Red Dwarf.

However, there seemed Starbug nothing or original design concept. The white dwarf model used for "Ouroboros" was actually a model turned blue dwarfs, last used in Series III. Mike Tucker and Alan Brennan freelancer reformed the original model by adding a nose cone, wings and engines back and repainted. Because the decline is a reality alternative (Kris Kochanski dimension) and because the white dwarf has never been seen before or since in the series (including the evacuation of all shipments in the episode final), has theorized that the white dwarf as seen in the series VII was only equivalent to that dimension of Blue Dwarf.

White Giant

White Gigante is a ship in the Red Dwarf that appears only in the Red Dwarf novels and never mentioned in the TV series. He has never explained what the ship looks like.

In the second novel, Red Dwarf, Rimmer and Cat White Giant use to search the World Lister trash. Given that Starbug was destroyed by acid rain and destruction of Blue Midget, giant white as the shuttle left all that remains of Red Dwarf. However, in the two sequel novels Starbug has been rebuilt and never appears white giant. Is possible that the white giant may have made its appearance as a transport ship in the segment, as the shuttle used for 'Canary', the suicide squad call seeking dangerous missions.

Ships Room

Nova 5

The sinking of the Nova 5 was discovered in the episode II "Kryten" and in fact is the first spacecraft is seen in the show than their own Red Dwarf.

The Nova 5 crashed into an asteroid, an unspecified amount of time before the episode. All of the crew died in the accident but three women who died after an unknown time. Hyperactive Series 4000 mechanoid service Kryten still serving their masters long dead (skeletons now) when they are members of the Red Dwarf.

Kryten, scheduled to serve and nothing else refuses to believe they are dead. He has continued to prepare food and clothing of the now skeletal remains indefinitely after his death. Ironically, and fun, the Red Dwarf crew heed the call for help from Kryten with excitement and enthusiasm when faced with the prospect of meeting women truth, live for the first time in three million years.

Nova 5 is never seen after that episode, but is mentioned several times later, and remembers fondly Kryten lot.

In the seventh episode of "Ouroboros", it was revealed that Kryten was responsible for the accident that killed the crew. A of the reasons there has not been in the series, but the novel explains Infinity Welcomes Careful drivers that the accident was caused by Kryten cleaning sensitive computer terminals with soapy water.

In the novel, Nova 5 is an American vessel owned by The Coca-Cola Company, which was sent on a mission to induce the supernova than 128 supergiants to create a message of five weeks in the sky visible in the light of day, reading "Coca-Cola adds life!" After the team Red Dwarf is the wreck that is brought aboard and repaired in order to use the Jump dual engine that could reach the crew to Earth within three months. However, although the ship is successfully repaired, circumstances that prevent them from ever going through with it.

Leviathan

This was a plague ship is on a glacier space containing the epidemic virus that infected Lister, nearly killing him. It crashed due to overloading of the motor. Is very large.

DNA Boat

The boat of DNA.

All that is known about its origins is that it was from a later period in the history of the Earth and be manned by a man who died after the machine for processing DNA on board made him grow three heads.

It was a no-name boat building advanced to the point that Rimmer assumed that belonged to foreigners intend to return to Glenn Miller. Its most notable feature, however, was the advanced machine for the transfiguration of human DNA. This machine was so advanced that it could turn, for example, a man in a chicken and again without lasting effects.

It could also turn a mechanoid a human being if he had not the slightest organic material used in the construction of the mechanoid. Kryten machine accidentally used DNA to become human for a while.

However, as the Dwarfers discovered DNA processing machine also malfunction, for example, when he tried to make Lister a lamb vindaloo in a chicken vindaloo, reanimated dead organic matter, creating a voracious beast growling (known as "the Lamb Vindaloo Beast" or "Curry Monster" or "psychopath Curry Man"). Lister then use the DNA machine to become a cyborg Robocop-esque (which worked, if he did only a few inches tall) to fight against the monster of Curry. At the end killed the monster Lister Curry by exploding cans of beer in his mouth, as beer is "the only thing that can kill a vindaloo."

Lister and Kryten uses DNA for the last time machine back to its original state, and the ship's DNA was not seen again.

Forest fires

Fires forest, as seen in "Stoke Me A Clipper"

Wildfire Ace Rimmer's personal ship. Wildfire is a one-man boat with only one cabin and is led by a team that is in love with Ace Rimmer. First appeared in the episode "Dimension Jump", which also showed Ace Rimmer. His second appearance was in the episode "Stoke Me a Clipper", which was redesigned slightly, being small enough to fit inside the hangar of Starbug.

Wildfire was created in the dimension proper to Ace Rimmer and his team at Mimas, including "Keys" Lister, and is able to cross the barrier between alternate dimensions. Ace Rimmer agreed to test-flying even though it was a ticket as there was no way to return to their own dimension, but could not resist due to the natural character of reckless courage. As is used to cross into our dimension where he met with the Dwarfers. Then used it as his own spaceship dimension jump, and earned a reputation over many alternative dimensions as a kind of intergalactic space adventurer and handsome hero.

As Rimmer "caught the business end of a tank of neutrons in Dimension 165", after another version of itself in this dimension took of his personality and adventures continued through the dimensions of forest fires. This has happened many times since then and many partners As several alternate dimensions of forest fires have been tested. When every dies As forest fires is given to the next dimension counterpart.

Forest fires not named in the television series, is only named in the novel back Red Dwarf, which was built in Europe rather than Mimas. In that novel (novels had stories than the TV series) forest fires is taken by Lister and the cat dies after As so they can escape the sun Starbug is flying.

SSS Esperanto

SSS Esperanto

SSS Esperanto was named "Ocean seeding vessel [disambiguation needed]" appears in "Back to Reality ", the last episode V.

His three-year mission was to explore deep space and locate potential S3 (or similar to the Earth) planets that were covered by the ocean, enter primitive forms of life in these extraterrestrial environments and ultimately accelerate the evolutionary process. His mission was a success and, in fact, that was out of all the cards predicted in an ocean planet Esperanto got the value of five million years of evolution in just water three solar years.

SSS Esperanto crashed into the ocean when he was attacked by one of the creatures that she had helped to create: a giant creature similar to the squid, whose ink had hallucinatory and despair-inducing properties. The ink caused the entire crew of Esperanto, and even a lost fish, have hallucinations that made them despair and suicide. Committed suicide by voluntarily close their own fish gills.

It reveals that in all species inhabit the oceans created Esperanto, the giant squid had eaten well at all or did they die with despair-inducing ink, leaving the lifeless sea, except for squid.

When found Esperanto Starbug, the crew were also attacked by the squid and had a group of odd hallucinations, but made that led them to believe all his experiences in the Red Dwarf were nothing more than a video game, and his real identity to all the people they despised. In his hallucination, Brummie technician named Andy says that to kill the squid that are supposed to use laser cannons SSS Esperanto, citing the name "Esperanto" as a track (Esperanto means "expects," despair and losing hope.)

The Battle Cruiser Simulant

The boat with no name simulant.

This unnamed vessel appears in two episodes of Series VI: "Gunmen of the Apocalypse" and "Rimmerworld." It is manned by Simulants Rogue that roam the deep space for other boats to hunt or compete in the battle for the purposes of sport, and sometimes to capture human beings to torture for sadistic pleasure. Contains a number of items stolen from other ships, including an escape pod of a ship taken seed [disambiguation needed]. Also incorporated a large amount of advanced technology (especially a teleporter) and a large food store in order to maintain the simulators are "victims of torture.

The ship simulator will be heavily armed with laser guns, and occasionally simulators equip armed vessels with their own weapons to sport hunting. The ship simulator is apparently not very well armed, however, as few Starbug laser shots were enough to blow up the ship in two halves Simulant. Apparently, the Simulants were used to prey on the run, and not used to prey on his land stand and fight. Starbug The surprise attack left unable to move or return fire.

The Dwarfers later return to the site of the battle and half the table Simulant wreck and in need of food.

The first design the ship was in the form of a human skull. This was changed to a goat's skull and, finally, to fit with the overall theme western "Gunmen the Apocalypse ", a cow skull.

Gemini 12

The Gemini 12 was a mysterious vessel capable of traveling through time and originating in the 28 century. Of According to the black box of Gemini 12, his ill-fated maiden voyage was a covert reconnaissance mission to the 20 th century, during which the unfortunate crew inadvertently made a century influenza virus 20. Apparently, all the virus had long since been removed for your time, and so the 28th century, the human immune system was become so weak through inaction no longer had the ability to fight disease. The crew of Gemini 12 knew they were dying and so, to stop time machine on board from falling into the wrong hands (namely how it could be abused and how dangerous it could be to mess with time) that sent the ship into deep space on autopilot.

After falling into orbit around a gas giant, the Gemini 12 activated its unusual restraint a giant cloud of gas that envelops containing a "minefield of reality." This consisted of temporary bubbles "unreal" to confuse and mislead any intruders and deter them from delving deeply into the gas cloud surrounding the Gemini 12. The effects of these "bubble of unreality" included making Dave Lister, a human crew member appears to be a robot, making the cat become invisible and the elimination of its existence from the memory of the crew others, making it appear to disappear Starbug around the crew and the heads of the crew in the transformation of the heads of animals. As any ship entered deeper into the gas cloud, the effects of "unreality bubbles" would become more and more disturbing, most ridiculous and extreme.

Starbug went through the bubble of unreality, with the crew in cryogenic sleep to not be affected by the bubble of unreality, to know what they were protecting. When they found the Gemini 12 who took the time unit and installed it on Starbug. Shortly after he entered a conflict with his own future from fifteen years from then (which had grown incredibly decadent and amoral through abuse of the unit of time), which concluded with her future self killing. This time done to restore to before the discovery of the Gemini 12. However, the paradox of time of the battle with her future self anomalies caused serious dimensions which in turn led to the appearance, size and properties of Starbug, Gemini 12 and the unit of time to alter greatly. Also retained all memory Dwarfers Meeting and the subsequent battle with her future self, which should have been deterrent enough to leave the Gemini 12 alone. Not so …

Once most went to retrieve the unit of time after Lister's insistence, so they could go back in time to Earth and replenish their supplies of curry. For the rest crew on it, Lister Kryten exchanged normal replacement head to head 2, which was less morally normal foot Kryten head.

The crew accidental deformation of Dallas in 1963, and remain trapped in the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy. The Dwarfers manage to set the timeline straight, but not after almost what the nuclear holocaust Earth. Later the crew decide not to use the unit of time as evidenced by many problems, or maybe it was faulty or broken, which is implicit in the episode "Tikka to Ride." As such, the Gemini of 12 years were not seen again. Although not mentioned, the red flash effect Light and sound unit of time is spent at the bottom of the next episode ("Ouroboros") when Lister places the child himself and Kochanski below the pool table where Lister was originally "found" as an orphan.

The Gemini 12 has had four different appearances, none of which are compatible. For the first episode that appears in "Out of Time", which were not able to build a new model and the images used in the episode instead of values "Justice." For the next episode, "Tikka to Ride", there was a failed attempt to create a totally new design CGI-before they decided to use another ship that appear later in the same series, the Centaur of the SS. Finally, for "Remastered Tikka to ride" on the Red Dwarf DVD Series VII, a design was completely new to CGI.

Illustration

Enlightenment

The illustration appears only once in the episode "Holoship" (Series V, Episode 1). In the commentary for this episode Danny John-Jules pants funny when the characters refer to the Enlightenment as "a computer-generated vessels. "Indeed, it was a model of clear plastic. In the DVD extras of the series V, no unused clips from the Enlightenment to double its principal structure articulation points, no other ship Red Dwarf series is known for doing this.

Enlightenment is a ship without mass or volume hologramatic and composed entirely of tachyons, or super-light particles, and has the ability to travel many multiples of the speed of light and even create wormholes to travel instantaneously a point in space to another. Kryten knew about the "holoship" as the project was in its infancy, when he left the Solar System.

Enlightenment leads to "cream hologrammatical the bodies of space" and the crew are all top of their field, some are geniuses, and most of them have a coefficient more than 200 intellectual. Because of his intellectual superiority, which are very arrogant with the crews of other "minor" ships. See stupidity everywhere. Described by Dave Lister as "emotionally weird" because they have abandoned any concept of relationships and family, they see the results of short-term "imbalances hormone. "However, vessel regulations say that every crew member must participate in sexual congress at least twice a day for exercise and to relieve frustration. Since holograms can touch each other (is revealed in Parallel Universe) and as the boat is also a hologram, holograms have a presence physical board, being able to eat, drink, touch, feel and the flavor of the ship.

With a full crew of 2000 (no more holograms can be projected or would it be too much of a system leak, so it seems), the only way for another hologram to join the crew "dead man's boots", or challenge an existing crew member and try intellectually superior. For any member of the crew again, another crew member must undergo a series of two tests ridiculously hard. If the original crew member fails the test or are removed, the new crew member takes the place of member original crew together with their execution time, effectively killing the loser.

Arnold Rimmer temporarily joined the team when a member challenge crew (unknown to him, the official flight Nirvanah crane) and withdrew its challenge to give it a try, and was off crane could Rimmer take place. However, Rimmer had developed feelings of the crane (the first time in his life had ever felt anyone's feelings) and declined again Red Dwarf to Nirvanah could be reinstated and live again. For she gave up a position of command, something he always wanted, but also gave an effective physical presence and a steady sex life with beautiful women.

In his travels, the Enlightenment may have found the Ark Cat II, as making the recognition that councils issue casually Starbug recognized the cat as Felis sapiens.

Silverberg SS

The SS Silverberg was seen is the series of eight episodes, Cassandra. It was aboard the Canary Islands Silverberg are Cassandra, a computer that can predict the future with 100% accuracy. It was believed initially that the ship crashed and something eaten the crew, but in reality the Silverberg had been scheduled to hit the autopilot with order to get rid of Cassandra.

The vessels referred to by name

Hermes SS

The spacecraft SS Hermes was reduced to a skeleton of the carcass after a very corrosive and chameleon-like microbe was released on board and ate very far in the ship itself, killing the crew in the process. Because of this we know little about Hermes, or the nature of the virus of the ship-devouring that he suffered (although it says that the virus was synthetic, it is possible that the virus was made in the laboratory Hermes).

The deadly microbe then escaped in a housing of the wreck, along with the lone survivor of Talia Garrett (an old acquaintance of the Red Dwarf Captain Frank Hollister). The virus was unknowingly taken on board Red Dwarf, along with the escape pod in the last episode of Season 8, only good ….

Oregon

The Oregon is mentioned by Captain Hollister in The End, citing an example of a ship that had experienced an incident involving quarantine of animals, apparently involving rabbits.

Augusto SS

Augusto SS is a ship that was presented before the Nova Kryten 5. The crew died of old age, suggesting it may have been in a long-term travel. It is mentioned in Duct Soup crew that traveled around the vents of Starbug. He I mentioned this to Lister, together with the Nova 5 and boats on the team "abandoned" him.

SS Scott Fitzgerald

SS mentioned Scott Fitzgerald better life is the mothership to the 11 th generation of AI Gordon team.
