It's all titanium cookware same?
I was at a home show and found a table in which the seller was selling Titanium Utensils kitchen "Made in Germany". Poured sugar in a hot skillet until melted titanium. So the just pour the sugar on a pile previously melted sugar to show non-stick skillet features. He seemed quite clever and certainly would cook faster, without fear burning. My question is, is this a characteristic of all titanium cookware or was pimping "high quality" pan? They were quite expensive …
I smile when I pass protesters if they are a county fair, an exhibition of fishing, or a program of high-end kitchen. They tout the latest and best Articles and amazing showmanship great. I have watched with attention to someone to show the latest kitchen tool that will allow me slice, dice, shred and julienne and get convinced that this is just the tool for me. It's a bargain and only $ 39.95 … Once you take home, play with my new "toy" and discover that my good knife and potato peeler to do the same tasks and more. It also takes up much space. I have a small set of pots and although titanium backpackers are terribly expensive, are very light. Besides its light weight, not to cook differently than my other set. I do not notice any difference in capabilities between them does not stick and my backpack known regular pots. Why buy? I do not need them, but they were more than a new "toy" to join my other camping equipment. Pots vary quality. Some are covered so that food is less likely to stick. Others are made with a copper base coated uniform cooking. Others are heavier pots so food has less chance of burning. I've been through many sets of pots at age 67. Now use a set of good quality stainless steel pots and I am totally happy with them. They serve my needs. Do you have a coated fry pan and a grill cover and find that I do not use a lot. Perhaps pots demonstrated were covered. Maybe they were pre-seasoned. I do not know, but titanium pots are only recognized by their light characteristics. How many times are you going to melt sugar or do something so extreme? Even if the cooked food pans 10 minutes before, worth the price steep? I do occasionally melt the sugar but the use of a small blow torch I bought at an inexpensive gourmet food shop. Why do you melt the sugar? I like to decorate my creme brulee with pieces caramelized sugar on top. How many times do I have to do? Maybe 2-3x a year. I'd suggest buying a good quality pots and ignoring this showman and their vessels. If you want the features that will not stick, you can get pots coated or just before the end of a season before cooking. In my humble opinion, I save my money.
