Cooks Coffee Maker Products

Anodized products … ANODIZED What exactly does mean?
I see modern kitchen specifying the non-stick and anodized. See tools like old pitchers, coffee makers, all claiming to be anodized cookware. Even the electronic components and devices! What exactly, so the chemical process / metal? Is it a technique for bonding metals? Maintenance of metal stains or fatigueing? Is it a method of strengthening the various metals when combined? Do you have something to do with the properties of some non-stick cookware, and is the methodology used for the "union" of metal to stick Teflon ™ and / or coating with oil? Maybe it's a non-brand or product used in areas or products that vary greatly, so it is a term unreliable? Detailed questions apologize for trying to understand this term is used non-stick cooking appliances! Thank you for taking the time to answer this question. 062408 05:11
I quote from Wikipedia: anodized or anodized, a passivation electrolytic process used to thicken the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. Anodizing increases corrosion resistance and wear and provides better adhesion for paint primers and glues bare metal. Anodic films can also be used to a number of cosmetic effects, either thick porous layer can absorb dyes or with thin transparent layers that add interference effects of reflected light. Anodizing is also used to prevent galling threaded components and to make dielectric films for electrolytic capacitors. Anodic films are most commonly used to protect alloys aluminum, although some processes for titanium, zinc, magnesium and niobium. This process is not a useful treatment for iron or carbon steel because these metals exfoliate when oxidized, ie, iron oxide (also known as rust) flakes off constantly exposing the underlying metal to corrosion. "Stay-Brite" is sometimes used as market name for products made of anodized aluminum and brass. Anodizing replica such changes the microscopic texture of the surface and can change the crystalline structure of metal near the surface. Coatings are often porous, even when thick, so a sealing process is often necessary to achieve corrosion resistance. The process is called "anodizing" because the part to be treated forms the anode electrode of an electrical circuit. anodized aluminum surfaces, for example, are harder than aluminum, but have low to moderate wear resistance that can be improved with the bulk of the increase or the application substances properly sealed. Anodic films are generally much stronger and more adherent than most types of paint and metal plating, making them less prone to cracking and peeling.
