What makes the experience of Starbucks Coffee Special?
Starbucks. When you say the name, it automatically conjures up an image: a coffee shop Luxury light wood, glass and chrome. The stimulating and attractive aroma of brewed coffee and the atmosphere has made Starbucks specialty coffee roaster best known and the server in the world. Starbucks has done an excellent job your company's brand – the only coffee brand that is on the list of 100 most recognized brands in the world. What makes the Starbucks brand and the Starbucks coffee experience so ubiquitous that it ranks up there alongside Google, McDonalds and Coca Cola in name and brand recognition?
Starbuck size and number of locations has something to do with name recognition and popularity. With more than 16,000 stores worldwide, Starbucks is no doubt one of the most visible brands in the world. However, this is not a question of the chicken or the egg – in order to become so visible, Starbucks had to start with something special the first place. It is that "something special" that defines the Starbucks coffee experience.
The Third Place
Since opening its first stores in Seattle, Starbucks has striven to be more than a place to buy coffee. Howard Schultz, the company president and CEO, defined the environment Starbucks tries to create when he said: "We are in the business of connection and humanity, creating communities in a third place between home and work."
The Third Place concept informs the design of Starbucks stores. Although coffee is at the center, the design is meant to make customers comfortable. For customer convenience and social interaction, most Starbucks stores mix of chairs and sofas upholstered in hard-backed chairs around a table. Most Starbucks shops offer free electricity to its customers so they can connect their laptops and all U.S. Starbucks offers Internet access via Wi-Fi AT & T. Starbucks also many with a well-stocked reading and game platform to encourage customers to meet and hang out with friends for a while.
The Coffee Experience
More than anything, of course, Starbucks is about coffee. The company began as a premium coffee roaster quality, and remained true to its roots by serving nothing but excellent coffee. In early July 2008, Starbucks announced that they would be changing the way the coffee is made and served in its stores around the world in an effort to offer the best coffee experience possible. The changes are rolled across the U.S. the end of 2008, and include a commitment to grind and brew many coffee varieties to order, and to rule out any coffee that has been developed for more than thirty minutes.
To improve the atmosphere of coffee, Starbucks employees are requested to avoid using strong perfumes that might interfere with the aroma of coffee, and almost every Starbucks the world is inside non-smoking. The preservation of the coffee-centric atmosphere was the reason that Starbucks abandoned its short-raid service life of breakfast sandwiches. According to some sources, the smell of breakfast sandwiches dominated the aroma of coffee, so coffee cafes smells like diners – an image that the company does not want to present.
All about coffee
The Starbucks coffee experience extends to prepare Starbucks coffee at home. The roasted coffee that Starbucks has chosen to sell are those that best reflect the rich coffee flavor and aroma from your local Starbucks. The roasts tend to lean heavily toward darker roasts, because it is easier to maintain consistency of flavor through the lots when roasting darker. darker roasts tend to be more "coffee" flavored lighter roasts, which allow changes in the region and the season to be more evident.
Since 2000, Starbucks coffee experience has also included feeling good about their choices of coffee. This is the year when Starbucks began selling its line of certified coffee by Fair Trade. Since 2005, Starbucks was the largest single buyer of Fair Trade certified coffee in the world, buying more than 11.5 million pounds of coffee FTC – over 10% of all U.S. volume Fair Trade sales. The amount represents about 6% of the total coffee purchase the company for that year. While Starbucks activist groups pressure to increase the percentage of Fair Trade coffee offered for sale, company spokesmen said point they pay above the market price for coffee and also dealing with many small producers who can not afford the cost of Fair Trade certification.
Experience Starbucks Coffee
The Starbucks coffee experience can be summarized in a nutshell: great coffee in comfortable surroundings served by an attentive staff and produced by a company that cares about our world. With great tasting drinks and a commitment to create a fun atmosphere, no wonder why Starbucks has become a household name.
