Coffee Maker Milk

How do you get the appropriate foam in the milk of a steam pipe maker in the country average.?
I'm trying to get the high level of foam we can find in the coffee bars of my small coffee house. The steam wand on the coffee bars is no different, but all they manage to obtain a level small foam. I have tried to tilt the container to one side, but it seems that when milk is heated throughout to just get a volcano action going in the milk is ie, starts flying everywhere.
The trick is to start with cold milk – once boiled will not get any foam. Fill your pitcher in (at least 1 1 / 2 liter size) half way and keep it so the tip of the steam nozzle is just below the surface of the milk, and against the rim of the jar. Keep container at an angle of about 30 degrees with the end of steam on the side of the pitcher is facing down (not on the side of the handle) Turn on the steam and make sure does not touch the jar and gently move to create the foam on the surface of the milk. Again, make sure that does not get too hot or you will not get any foam. I hope this makes sense, good luck and do not forget to top your cappuccino with a hint of chocolate!
