What are the negative effects of not cleaning the coffee?
I can do a lot of coffee and never clean my coffee machine. As I have not cleaned in 2 years. I always thoroughly clean and looks clean, it makes the coffee taste very good. What we do not always do is run vinegar through it to I think you're supposed to. The inside lid of my coffee the manufacturer says: "IMPORTANT: Clean at least once a month." Am I going to die or get really sick or have any other terrible thing happen to me? LOL What is the proper way to clean the coffee, how often to do and what would happen if you did?
You can not always get sick for not cleaning the pot, but if you have hard water (lots of minerals), the pot may start taking more time to prepare because of the deposits. One, good inexpensive way to clean the pot is 1 / 2 cup white vinegar into the jar, and fill the rest of the way with water … and then runs through its cycle of once or twice, depending on the amount of accumulation that is. Next Run clean water through the regular cycle of a couple of times clean the deposits dissolved by the vinegar. This should make your pot run like new. I have hard water, and I have mine not just two or three times a year. You can just do it annually. Everything depends on the minerals in tap water.
