Breadmaker Recipes Wheat Bread
"I can replace wheat flour in the recipe that calls for all purposes?
I make the dough in my bread machine (and then bake buns) with a recipe that I have which calls for all-purpose flour. Can I substitute whole wheat flour and if so, would it be fair that the same relationship and I need to adjust the cooking time or anything: here is the recipe for a cup of milk 1 / 4 cup softened butter 1 egg 1 / 4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups flour 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast Note: I am not looking for another recipe that uses whole wheat flour and I scoured the net and have not found one that has ingredients I have on hand and I'm not going to the store:) Thanks in advance. I have no all-purpose wheat only so can not go half-half or combination of both.
whole wheat flour is not enough to replace gluten meal and expect similar results. You will end up with a long loaf denser, because there will be much less of a rise. Better solution would be to follow a recipe for whole wheat bread. Most of my recipes for whole wheat bread vitil called gluten as an ingredient in addition to whole wheat flour
