Bake half a loaf of bread?

Right now only cook for two people. Never pass on the bread before it goes bad. I can cook the bread in the oven is not a breadmaker. I have not seen any of bread loaf for half a loaf of bread. The other issue is that I like the Italian bread (hard crust outside, soft inside) to serve meals, while I like most resistant wheat bread for peanut butter and jelly. Do not eat bread every night with dinner. So Is it possible to split a regular loaf in half? or buy half a loaf bread?

You have several options. Mini loaf pan is an option. I saw some yesterday at Big Lots in La Crescenta, California. Another option is to make your bread dough, divide in half and half baking it in a sheet of kitchen (or a pizza stone) without a loaf of bread. Just form the dough into a basic form right on the blade of the kitchen. Bake both at the same time, that's fine, and you can freeze a for another day. A third option (which I use to roll) is to bake for ten minutes, but all prohibited cooking time, let it cool and pop bags with zip top freezer and freeze them. When ready to eat, take what you want, bake them in the last ten minutes and enjoy! By pre-cooking they hold their shape in the freezer, and you do not have to wait until they melt and rise before baking and eating.
