Help impress my dinner guests?
Ok, so last week we went to our neighbors, for the first time for dinner. It made an "awesome" Italian dinner. It started with antipasto snacks, Italian bread, salad, cannelloni, penne pasta, sausage, meatballs, etc … dinner was amazing! Then with dessert have a Keurig coffee maker, so we had a choice of what type of coffee you wanted! It was a great dinner! So ….. I want them to dinner side. I'm not much of a cook. I have some specialties, but really want to do something nice. My question is, I have a very good recipe for pepper meat you do in a clay pot …… is very good, and usually have more than white rice. What do I need to pepper steak ….. any suggestions for snacks, etc. I have really wanted to do something special for them. Thanks! Thank you all so much for his ideas, which are all great! Their meat pepper and rice dish sounds wonderful. You better stay with what you know for the company. Good call. You definitely need something green and roasted asparagus. So easy. Break wood studs and ends cover with a little olive oil and salt. Roast in 450 oven on hot baking sheet until tender crisp. About ten minutes. A salad with sliced apple to fall well or pears and walnuts with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Dinner rolls. To make some stuffed mushrooms appetizer. These can be filled ahead of time to pop into the oven. But what will your big meal is not food. It is the atmosphere it creates. Stay calm and relaxed and just be a gracious hostess. When your guests feel as if you were nervous and trying to hard it makes them feel uncomfortable. Just put a smile and make you feel at home. That is what they will remember. Hope that helps.
