Stromboli Italian sausage and prosciutto – Recipe

Strange as it may Apparently, it's almost magical to me cut my crust of bread and Stromboli, and see the wonderful rolls of different ingredients. I am very proud of how well it is. If they are not aware, Stromboli is a bit like pizza and calzone, except that you take the ingredients and cheese to a delicious pasta bake as bread.
Ingredients (7 persons):
Stromboli dough:
- 1 ¼ cups – water (between 110 and 115 degrees F)
- One 0.25 oz package – active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon – butter, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons – milk powder
- 1 teaspoon – Salt
- 1 tablespoon – sugar
- 3 1.8 cups – all of unbleached flour
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons – extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves – garlic, diced
- 2 14.5 oz cans – diced tomatoes (preferably Hunts brand)
- 3 tablespoons – fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ tsp – red pepper flakes

- 3 tablespoons – extra virgin olive oil
- medium onion, chopped – 2
- £ 1 – mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 / 4 pound – thinly sliced ham
- 4 oz – grated Asiago cheese
Preparation:
The dough: Mix together water and yeast in bread machine (you can place the ingredients in a bowl and lap the dough by hand if desired) and let the yeast is dissolved, about 10 minutes. Place the butter, milk, salt, sugar and flour in the bread machine and start making machine bread allows the dough forms a soft ball. Remove and place on floured surface. Cover with a damp towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

The sauce: While the dough is kneading in the machine to pan, place oil in a pan and heat over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for a minute. Add tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper and red pepper. Let cook the sauce (it should boil a little) until most of water has gone and the sauce thickens, about 30 to 45 minutes. Stir periodically.

The ingredients in layers: Add chorizo to the frying pan and cook until browned, breaking meat apart while cooking. In another pan, add oil and onion and cook until onions are caramelized (dark brown).

Stromboli: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Roll out the dough into a rectangular sheet on lightly floured (See photo). Do not roll too thin.

Starting form layers of mozzarella, sprinkle evenly over dough. Leave one edge of the short ends of the rectangle, so you can seal the mass after it is rolled. Place sausage in cheese followed by onions.

Place ham slices on top of onion. The sauce is thick and difficult to spread so simple Drop tablespoons equal distances in the ham.

Finally, sprinkle evenly over the surface asiago.

Then roll the dough (like a jelly roll) to seal the ends and along the seam. You should roll parallel to the increased length of the rectangle. Carefully place the dough on a greased baking sheet with oil (label side facing down).
Stamp down on greased sheet.
Cook in oven for 30-35 minutes. Once the Stromboli has cooked, cut into slices and serve (see photo).
